Mine were a little different, I had

Hunter
Latos
Decker
Kulbacki
Blanks

http://padres.scout.com/2/813368.html

the problem with Antonelli is that he has really only had one good month since July of '07.

Madfriars.com will have a combined Top 20 list on March 1.

Yes they were published well before mine (Nov 11th). The ones I gave above were his, although in respect to subscribers of madfriars I dont think I can/should say anything else regarding his rankings.

Thanks guys! I'm already working on something I've been doing with college hitters since the Pads took like 4-6 hitters I've been evaluating. I'm not quite ready to go fully public with it, but I think it'll be interesting. From my measures thus far, (don't have a good feel for working in park factors, yet), I think the Pads got some good value in guys from a pure statistics-based viewpoint (and I've only got 2008 data thus far).

Nice to see another blogger. Welcome.

The "Madfriars top 5" was actually my top 5. I was the only person to rank Antonelli as high as 4. And that was mainly because I cant see a guy have a down year and going from thee best 2B prospect in the majors to becoming a fringe major leaguer. IMO the mix of being the youngest person in AAA, and the fact that just 2 years ago (from when the season started) he was still playing at Wake Forrest and had no idea which team or when he would be drafted. That is a lot of climbing in 1.5 years. If he isn't the Padres opening day 2B (it would go to Decker) expect him to rebound and put up great numbers in Portland before being recalled in June

Anyway Madfriars (Dennis Savage's) top 6 are Blanks, Decker, Hunter, Latos, Antonelli, Kulbacki. Actually he has the exact same top 6 as you and me. However after that he has Pelzer, Huffman, Cumberland, and Dykstra.

Good post and again welcome
