Yesterday, I heard from a friend of mine who lives in Milwaukee. This was what he had to say about his first “Trevor Time” experience…
I went to the brewers game last night and when trevor hoffman came in it was probably one of the coolest things that ever happened when i was at a game.
im sure they prob did something similar in SD. When it was the 9th they turned off every screen in the stadium. and then slowly you heard the beginning of hells bells with the bells ringing. Then on the screen you see a big bell with no. 51 on it, with the faint image of hoffman’s face behind it. the entire wrap around screen on the 2nd deck said “Trevor Time” in the New York Times font, as did the screen on the left-field wall. The music was cranked up and every fan was on his feet. It was the coolest thing in the world. It felt like a playoff atmosphere and we’re only in may. Then hoffman got on the mound and they announced him. (kind of redundant). He threw 8 pitches and continues to have a 0.00 era.
I just thought i’d share that. it was so sick!
I agree, Trevor time is “sick.” Its a shame we couldn’t have had one more year of it. But at least Trevor is pitching well in Milwaukee. Even though he is on a different team, I still root for him. I suspect most of you do the same.

Yep, I still root for him, and I’m glad he’s proving people who said he couldn’t succeed outside of Petco wrong.

As one of those who thought Trevor would fizzle in Milwaukee, I’m thrilled that he’s making me look like an idiot. I can’t wait to see him when the Brewers come here in July.
I’m also thrilled that we have Heath Bell.

Geoff-I too am really looking forward to the Brewer’s coming to town. I hope that when Trevor comes in to pitch that they go ahead and to the whole Hell’s Bells thing. (Note: I have a feeling he will appear in one game even if there is not a Brewer’s save situation in the series, so this wish is not necessarily inconsistent with rooting for the Padres to win).
