Huber to the Pads

With another tip of the cap to Ducksnorts, we find out that the Padres have picked up 1b/OF Justin Huber from the Royals for long time utility guy To Be Named Later.
ZiPS: .279/.334/.437
CHONE: .256/.325/.419
PECOTA: .255/.322/.420
In the minors he’s hit .288/.383/.495.
Last year’s Baseball America Handbook had him ranked 8th in the Royals’ system. So he isn’t just some over the hill guy beating up on younger players. He’s a relatively legit prospect, even at 25 years of age.
A solid line drive bat who can play a little outfield … looks like we’ve got another left field candidate and all around solid bench player. Good move, pending To Be Named Later’s unveiling of his real name.

Hey MB. That was indeed my blog you stumbled across that I write with my friend. It’s been mostly random sports related stuff, but now that baseball season is starting presumably I’ll be focusing more on the Padres and baseball in general. Glad to have you as a reader.
